Description
An original Carbon Tetrachloride extinguisher, circa 1930's, measuring 10" tall by 5" in diameter.
If excessive heat developed, a low melting seal would release the spring tip breaking the tip of the sealed glass vessel.
The liquid carbon tetrachloride would spray into the fire and would turn into a gas to remove the required oxygen for the fire.
Presently outdated because of the hazard of the gas to anyone close to the vapors.
Because of the fragile glass, these fire bombs have become quite challenging to find.
