Description
At the conclusion of the Civil War, coins were at an extreme shortage.
Postage stamps were used as a means of providing change.
The stamps stuck to each other so they printed fractional currency of a series of stamps.
This 1862 fifty cent fractional currency is double matted and framed with UV glass to protect the note.
Both sides of the note can be viewed.
The frame measures 10" tall by 12" wide by 1" thick
